Amore is a proper Italian restaurant and bar, situated at 29 Market Place and doing exactly what a good Italian should: warm welcome, honest cooking, and food made with genuine care. No shortcuts. No pretence. Just great ingredients and classical Italian technique.

The menu covers all the bases — wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta, fresh fish, risotto, and a Chef’s Corner of mains that runs from slow-cooked lamb shank in red wine to chargrilled sirloin with black pepper sauce. Whether you’re after a simple Spaghetti Aglio e Olio or something a little more special — the Risotto alla Zafferano with king prawns, mussels, and sea bass is worth knowing about — there’s plenty to come back for.

Gluten-free pasta is available on request, and the menu has solid vegetarian options throughout.
